Do you have a free trial?
No, we have something better. You can use all of the learning resources for a selection of podcast episodes for free, with as long as you like. You don't even need to create an account. You can also listen to lots of our podcast episodes here or on your favourite podcast app.

Does the membership automatically renew?
Yes. like every subscription service (Netflix, Spotify etc.), the membership renews automatically.
But it is very easy to cancel, and takes < 5 seconds.
You can cancel it at any time, all in your online dashboard, and you'll keep your access until the end of that billing period.
If you are on our Annual membership, we send you a reminder 7 days before it renews, so that there are no surprises.
We hate complicated cancellation processes just as much as you.
Can I download the learning resources to use offline?
Yes. If you join on our Annual membership you can download everything.
If you choose the Monthly membership, you can access everything online, but not download.
Can I give a membership as a gift?
What a lovely thought! Yes, of course you can. You can do this on the Gift Memberships page
What's your refund policy?
We have a 30 day 'no questions asked' refund policy.
This means that you can request a full refund for whatever reason you want - the language level was too high/low, I didn't have time to use it, my dog ate my phone, it doesn't matter.
Do you offer educational or student discounts?
Yes. Students get 50% off all plans, and we offer educational plans for schools. Please email hi@leonardoenglish.com and we'll take it from there.
What happens in the Member-only Q&A sessions?
Great question. These sessions happen once a month, and all members of Leonardo English are invited.
Generally these sessions cover an interesting topic, and include a presentation and discussion.
They take place virtually, typically on the last Wednesday of the month at 7pm CET (Paris/Rome time).
It's a great opportunity to learn something new, practise your English with other curious minds (but speaking isn't required), and have some fun at the same time.
Past topics include "How to actually use podcasts to improve your English", "Accents in English", "What British people really mean", and "Brexit".
Can I listen to the member-only episodes on my favourite podcast app?
Yes. When you become a member you will receive a unique link to add the member-only episodes to your favourite podcast app. You can read more about this here.
Can I change my membership?
Yes, changing your membership is very easy.
If you join on the monthly plan, then decide to change to an annual plan, you will only pay the difference.
The difference is worked out on a pro-rata basis, so any 'unused time' is added as a credit to your account.
You can do this by visiting the membership page when you are logged in.

Can I ask my company to pay for my membership?
Sure, and lots of our members do.

Who built Leonardo English?
Hi, I'm Alastair 👋.
I'm an English guy from London, who has spent 35 years on this earth studying foreign languages, working in technology, teaching English to foreigners, and thinking about learning languages.
I'm a native English speaker, am fluent in Italian and French, have a Masters in Mandarin Chinese, and have studied Russian, Latin and Greek, as well as dabbling in Spanish and German.
I've lived in the UK, France, Italy and China. I now live in Malta, am married to an Italian, have a little (almost) trilingual baby, and have friends from all over the world, so I've spent my life thinking about how best to learn a language.
I'm building Leonardo English to help people like you improve your English while learning about the world.
What kind of English accent will I learn?
The majority of our content is in a British 'BBC' accent, otherwise known as The Queen's English.
On occasion we may have content in an American, Australian, or South African accent.
