There are few experiences more frustrating for any language learner than saying something to a native speaker in what you think is perfect English, only to hear the dreaded:

“Huh, I can’t understand what you’re saying”

You know the word, you can write it out perfectly, you can even explain exactly what it means.

But why can’t the other person understand you?

Simple. You are not pronouncing it correctly.

If you’ve been in this situation before, you know how annoying this is. You repeat and repeat the word, you think you’re saying it perfectly, yet the other person still shakes their head. There is a communication breakdown.

It can even be embarrassing, when you try to say “beach”, “fork” or “sheet” and you say…another word altogether.

So, what can you do about it?

Learning the International Phonetic Alphabet, and studying the pronunciation in textbooks is–for most people–about as interesting as watching paint dry. It’s dreadfully boring.

Immersing yourself in English is an option, but you need to listen carefully and be able to correct yourself when you make a mistake. And not everybody can afford to get on a plane and take 6 months off to learn English.

The good news is that there is an app that has been built specifically for learners to study pronunciation.

It’s called ELSA, and was started by a Vietnamese entrepreneur who was frustrated when she wasn’t understood by native speakers.

Not only does the app help you listen to the differences between sounds, but you can also record yourself pronouncing words and you will get instant feedback. It uses Artificial Intelligence to detect mistakes with 95% accuracy.

In plain English, what this means is that there is super smart technology that will tell you when you’re making a mistake, and when your pronunciation is spot-on.

Here’s a quick demonstration of how it works:

As you can see, it’s a really useful app, and can be a wonderful addition to any independent English learner’s toolkit.

As part of this partnership, ELSA has kindly given us an amazing offer to share, allowing you to save 85% on a Pro membership.

To get this offer, you’ll need to go through this exclusive link:
